Tenerife Airport refers to two airports which are located on two different locations of islands of Tenerife and Canary Islands in Spain.
Tenerife North Airport holds IATA Code as TFN. It was previously called Los Rodeos Airport and it is one of the two international airports built on island of Tenerife, Spain. The airport is situated in San Cristóbal de La Laguna which is just 11 km by road from Santa Cruz. Tenerife North Airport served 3.7 million travellers in 2012 whereas if combined with Tenerife South Airport, the island did serve the highest travellers’ movement all over the Canary Islands, The figure reaches beyond 12.2 million travellers. Tenerife South Airport holds IATA Code as TFS. It was previously called Tenerife South-Reina Sofia Airport. The airport is situated within the Granadilla de Abona municipality. This airport served 9 million plus travellers in 2014. The airport has direct connections to major locations the whole of Europe including UK and Africa handling more than 160 prime rated airlines. The airport always looks under construction and undertaking expansion projects to meet increasing needs of travellers that goes on further rise on weekends.
